29 children may be sentenced to death for protesting against cost-of-living crisis in Nigeria
On 1 November 2024 minors aged 13 to 17 were among 76 #EndBadGovernance protesters arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja on 10 counts including treason, after about three months in police detention. Four of the children collapsed in the dock and the judge halted proceedings.

4 Nigerian journalists face fresh charges over report tying bank CEO to fraud claims
Journalists Olurotimi Olawale, Precious Eze Chukwunonso, Roland Olonishuwa and Seun Odunlami were detained in September 2024 and charged on 27 September under sections 24 and 27 of the Cybercrimes Act before a Lagos federal court over a report alleging that the chief executive of Guaranty Trust Bank was involved in fraud. Prosecutors amended the charges on 14 October. The bank confirmed it had sought the charges.
